Laser-assisted dental procedures refers to using a dental laser to provide all or some of the treatment that is needed. Dr. Hubler has invested in the Solea CO2 hard and soft tissue laser (teeth, bone, and gums). Most conservative cavities can be treated using only the laser with no need for any local anesthesia or the drill. Small soft tissue lesions can be treated using the same laser. Because of the unique properties of CO2 lasers and soft tissue, most treatments can be done with little to no bleeding. The best part is that post-operative pain and sensitivity is also minimized compared to other modes of treating the same lesions.
The laser kills bacteria as it works leaving a more sterile area for the restoration that will be placed in the tooth. It also helps to reduce post-operative sensitivity within the tooth.
Dr. Hubler has been a laser dentist since 2007 and is very proficient in its use.
